Moderators jojodacrow and museaway took over the DCBB for the 2017 round. They applied for the position in early February 2017, when the previous moderator advertised for new moderators on Livejournal. Their proposal was accepted a few weeks later and they officially became the new moderators on February 26, 2017.
The 2017 round eliminated the Minibang, which had been a component of the DCBB since 2010, due to a high drop rate[1]. It banned serial posting, a point of contention in the 2016 round, and brought back a participant chat, a feature from the earlier rounds.
There were a total of 118 teams that completed the 2017 round.
